My September (2023) in Nails (2024)

Hey, y’all! I’m still playing a little catch up with my monthly manicure posts. For today’s post, I have all the manicures I wore during the month of September. September was a pretty great month for manicures in my corner of the universe, so this means a (maybe?) longer than usual post. So, y’all know the drill: Grab a snack; grab your favorite drink; and let’s look at some pretty polish! Woot! (By the way, I’m already enjoying my favorite iced green tea from Starbucks. Life is good!)

I started off my month with China Glaze, Night Dunes. There is nothing super spectacular about this polish. It’s a lovely tone of blue, which makes it a winner in my book. And it has some nice, shimmery sparkle to it. These look like glass flecks to me, but I could be wrong about that. I’m not always the best at identifying polish elements, but I know what I like. And I liked this one!

My next manicure was with Zoya, Brianna. Just look at this lovely, soft, and sweet lady. She may be gentle, but I like to think she has a will of iron underneath her surface appearance. Y’all know how much Mama loves her “grandma rosey” tones. It’s no wonder that this lovely polish captured my heart at the first “hello”!

Next up was Atomic Polish, Strange the Dreamer. O.M.G. Y’all!! Y’all!! Look at this polish. Just loooooook at it. I can’t even. I freakin’ love this polish so, so, so much. I wore it for almost a week, and I didn’t want to take it off, even then. I only changed it out due to extreme tip wear. And I almost used it again in a manicure right away. I forced myself not to, because I have so many untrieds. But the urge was strong.

My next manicure was a water marble. Yay for having time to do nail art! At one point, I was trying to do at least one water marble a week, which means taking a few hours on a weekend day to do them. But I don’t always have time for that. Anyhow, this one is with OPI: Eurso Euro (dark blue), Lima Tell You About This Color (pink), and Clear Your Cash (green). I freakin’ loved this manicure. It turned out so great — much better than I was even hoping for — and I loved the sense of motion in here.

My September (2023) in Nails (5)

Next up was Zoya, Venus. How can you not love this spunky little pretty? She is full of bold color and all the holographic glittery fun. I had a great time wearing this, and I loved looking at it on my nails.

My September (2023) in Nails (6)

My next manicure was another water marble. This was with Zoya, Palmer (light pink) and Morgan (dark pink) and Orly, On a Whim (yellow-green). I stamped over two nails on each hand using Morgan. I was not at all sure how this would turn out when I started trying to put it together. I gotta be honest: On a Whim was a bit of a wild card in this design. I ended up loving the heck out of this manicure. Morgan is one of my all-time favorite pinks, and that’s saying something from me. As you all know, I am definitely not Ms. “I Love All Things Pink”. But Morgan always, always hits a sweet spot for me. And I loved how combining it with On a Whim played up the yellowish tones in that polish. It had a fun and funky “70s” sort of vibe for me.

My September (2023) in Nails (7)

And … yet another water marble! I’m telling y’all: I was feeling my oats in September when it came to water marbles — ha, ha! This one is with Orly: Shaky Alibi (light pinky-taupe), In the Conservatory (reddish, rusty brown), Act of Folly (yellow-green), and Don’t Be Suspicious (darkest brown). This was a Fall Extravaganza of a manicure. I love all the brown tones in here, and I loved the way the slight touch of yellowy green gives just a hint of brighter color. I wasn’t sure what to expect from putting these together on my nails, but I enjoyed this manicure a lot.

My September (2023) in Nails (8)

Next was Colores de Carol, TGIBF. This was released in 2022, but I finally managed to wear it this past September. Why did I wait so long?? It is just FABULOUS in every way. I love the purple and blue tones. I even love the magnetic shift, which is so fun amid all the reflective flakes. This one looks like a galaxy manicure, but all in one beautiful polish!

My September (2023) in Nails (9)

My next manicure was Colores de Carol, Saturday in the Park. I love me some beautiful, fun, and playful crellies. And I think Carolina creates some of the best ones out there in nail polish land. This one really captured my heart because of the mix of dark and light blue, alongside the vibrant hot pinks. I also love that the base color has just the barest hint of pink to it. I enjoyed the heck out of this one!

My September (2023) in Nails (10)

Next up was Colores de Carol, Sweet Honeydew. I loved this polish in the bottle. It’s such a beautiful, fun, and vibrant green. And the gold and black flecks running throughout are just a little extra fun on top of everything. Unfortunately, I did not love this one on my nails. There was something about it against my skin tone that I didn’t like. I ended up destashing it.

My September (2023) in Nails (11)

And last but not least, here is Colores de Carol, Artoo. This is a fun and feisty sort of polish mix! The base is nearly see-through, so you can catch glimpses of VNL, even after 3 coats. It’s not something you can particularly be mad at, since there is So Much Glitter in this polish. It really distracts from any visibility on your nail plate or nail line. I love the sense of motion because of the different colors, sizes, and shapes of glitters. The only downside of this polish is that it was a booger-bear to remove.

THE WRAP-UP:

Whew! I told you September was a great manicure month, didn’t I? Yep! I did. You can see I did not lie. It was a long month filled with fun, fabulous, and beautiful polishes. And I enjoyed pretty much every manicure. I also loved that I had the chance to do multiple water marbles during the month. I love creating and wearing water marbles, but it is a time consuming technique.

What about all of you? I would love to hear what you were wearing and loving during the month of September (even if it does make you take your thoughts all the way back to 2023!).
