[Y/n] sighed for the fourth time right now, she had been running around the grove none stop getting use to her duties as the future Archdruid wife; being here for two days now was feeling overwhelming now with everything she had to get used to. It wasn't all that bad here, she made a couple of friends, Nettie was one of them who showed her a few new tricks in healing; occasionally she would bump into Halsin who was busy with the goblin attacks that seemed to be growing and showing no ends but at least they talked during the morning, between duties and at dinner making sure they would find some comfort in each other before their wedding in three days; the one she couldn't stand was Kagha. The woman was on her almost every day making sure she was up to standards for the grove's survival, and if any future plans were spoke Kagha always was there to remind [y/n] not only was she a wife of a Archdruid but in charge of bearing strong healthy children; not that she didn't want any it was the fact the Kagha made sure [y/n] felt like nothing more than a source of livestock and work maid for the grove.
She couldn't help but groan under her breath while running her hands over her face feeling frustrated and needed to let out some sort of steam, but the deep warm chuckle made her heart skip a beat when she turned to see Halsin walking up behind her.
"Frustrated already?" he teased her with a warm smile, she blushed when casting her eyes down for a moment before looking back up to him.
"Just with minor things" she pushed it off like it was no big deal and not wishing to bother him with her problems, he already had plenty on his mind already.
"Even minor things need my attention, especially my future wife's" his eyes never left hers as he spoke his true words, not being one of those men who pushed their wives aside with their problems and leaving them alone to figure it out themselves, [y/n] was glad she was marrying a good man like him.
"Is it okay if I just, go out of the grove? To do something else other than duty?" she sighed heavily, practically begging to do something else then what others expect her to do with her whole life.
Halsin couldn't help but smile at her knowing what she meant by some sort of escape; he has done so in the past. And he wouldn't say it out loud, but he liked that begging tone of hers; her [e/c] eyes pleading for something anything, it made the beast in him stir if he thought too hard about the way she looked; begging and pleading for him to do anything to her.
"I don't see why not; come we shall go together" he shrugged his shoulders not seeing a reason not to go out of the grove, the goblins have been kept silent for a while.
[Y/n] smiled and nods her head in agreement, liking the idea of them being alone and away from others who seemed to watch them when they look like they are not; like they were waiting for [y/n] to f*ck up and laugh or talk behind her back about it later in the night.
The fresh breeze against her skin felt soft and warm, she let out a happy hum as she and Halsin strolled through the woods enjoying the peaceful nature that surrounded them, she could hear the ocean crash against the shoreline of the hills and rocks; the sun was warm but not overly warm as they walked slowly enjoying the sound of the birds and occasional animal here and there. [Y/n] gazed upon a flower that caught her eye, kneeling down to look at the beautiful pink petal as it shimmered in the sunlight.
"Is it alright if I ask you something?" Halsin broke the comfortable silence around them wishing to know something that has been weighing heavily on his heart.
"You can ask me anything" she glanced briefly up at him before looking back at the smaller flowers below her.
"Are you.....are you happy here?" Halsin began put paused taking in a breath before asking his question that felt like a chain around his neck, he didn't wish to see [y/n] unhappy here and to be forced to marry him because of the war to keep neighboring groves safe.
[Y/n] couldn't help but look up at him almost confused at the question itself, like it was the first time anyone has asked her such a question; Halsin had learned quickly how she tends to take others and duties first over her happiness. He didn't wish to let her believe she didn't have a right to be happy here, to live the life that she wished for.
"In truth, I am actually" [y/n] stood giving a soft warm smile once her eyes meet his, seeing her true smile made Halsin's heart ready to burst out of his chest.
"that's good to hear, I did not wish for you to think you didn't have a choice" Halsin felt a weight off his shoulders as he stepped closer to her, trying to explain his reasoning for asking such a question before her mind could come up with an idea as to way he asked.
"You to kind for your own good" she teased trying to hide the blush that crept onto her cheeks, but Halsin could already see it and he couldn't stop the chuckle that escaped his lips.
"You as well" he teased back lifting her face up by the chin to make her eyes look back up into his hazel eyes.
A comfortable yet tense feeling surrounded them now; they're eyes hiding a feeling they tried to bury deep but it still somehow crawled its way back, without thinking Halsin's lips were on [y/n]'s in a second taking her by surprise as she felt his lips against hers for the first time. She didn't fight the kiss; he pressed her lips against his, her hands resting on his shoulders while his strong arms circled around her to pull her close to his body. The kiss was gentle and passionate, holding words that had yet to be spoke almost like a promise; [y/n] opened her mouth just slightly giving Halsin the opportunity to slide his tongue inside feeling her tongue against his, the surprise moan that escaped her lips made Halsin's blood run hot as his grip tightened around her, his large hands gripped her hips roughly bringing out another moan that sounded desperate and wishing for more. But Halsin broke away from the kiss, feeling his beast wishing to run wild with his blood hot and bothered with her sounds of pleasure.
"Forgive me, I-I lost myself for a moment" Halsin stuttered a bit trying to calm himself down enough to not awaken the beast.
"I-it's okay, I didn't mind" [y/n] blushed trying to catch her breath and steady her heart that felt like it would burst out her chest at any moment.
"We should return" Halsin slowly backed away from her even though he wished he couldn't, wishing nothing more than to take her and claim her as his own but he must wait to be respectable for her sack not knowing if she wished for things to be slow between them.
[Y/n] could only nod her head, still trying to wrap her head around the fact that he kissed her; she could still feel his lips against her like a ghost while they walked back to the grove in silences once more.
That night was uncomfortably hot as [y/n] tossed and turned in her sheets; she could still feel his lips how warm they were and how they had a lingering taste of honey to them. The ghost touch of his hands gripping her hips with such claim and passion it made her legs clench together wishing it could have grown into something more in the wilds; this may have been arranged but she felt safe and loved in his presence. She doesn't know if she could stop herself a second time if Halsin or herself found themselves kissing once more when alone and in truth she didn't wish to stop it if a second moment was given to her.
